Here are three charts from the crosstabs UT/Texas Tribune poll released last week where Trump is leading by 3 points 45-43. There is pool of 290 Hispanic voters in the poll of a total of 1200 respondents.
Among Hispanic voters in Texas, 32% of respondents said the will vote for Trump while 56% said they will vote for Clinton.
Favorability for Trump among Hispanics in Texas is very low. Only 8.46% of Hispanic respondents had a very favorable view of Trump while Clinton has a 23.80%. However, unfavorability is what really drags down Trump. Trump unforability among Hispanics in Texas is 60%, and Clinton is only 28.86%.
Like most Americans, Hispanics in Texas don’t think Clinton is “honest and trustworthy,” but they think Trump is worse. Only 25% of Hispanics in Texas think Trump is honest and trustworthy while Clinton gets 39%.
Do you think that Donald Trump is honest and trustworthy (Likely Voters)? Hispanics: Yes 25.74%, No 69.31%.
Do you think that Hillary Clinton is honest and trustworthy? (Likely Voters)? Hispanics: Yes 39.30%, No 53.73%.
Party favorability is another predictor of how Hispanics will vote on Nov. 8.
The polls shows that Hispanics have unfavorable views of the Republican party. Between the very/somewhat unfavorables, about 70% of Hispanics have an unfavorable view of the GOP.This is similar to the 32% of Hispanics who said they will vote for Trump. For the the Democrat Party, the unfavorables among Hispanics is only about 36%.
